Get Your Outdoor Activity on at Wendell Park
Summertime means extra hours for fun in the sun! Head out of Wendell Falls for a quick commute to Wendell Town Park (less than 10 minutes away!), where a plethora of activities fit for all await—from kids taking a break from school to grown-ups seeking a bit of vitamin D after a day in the office to retirees eager for excercise.
Pickleball + Tennis Courts
Paddle up to the duo of tennis/pickleball courts that are open for friendly competition Mondays through Sundays until 11 p.m. at 601 W. Third Street. Play ball!
Disc Golf
Tee up solo or grab a few friends for a disc golf session at an 18-hole course with short, medium and long tee distance options. Translation: An ideal set-up for all skill levels. It’s sure to be a good time—par none.
K-9 Corral
Calling all canines! Set Fido free to frolic—and make some more four-legged friends—around the fenced-in area of Wendell Town Park.
Trails
Want to step outside Wendell Falls’ trail system? “One of the best kept secrets in Wake County,” Wendell Park’s nature trail showcases spots for bird watching, spotting wildlife and discovering a slew of shrubbery and plants along the 2-mile span of well-marked pathways.
Picnics
Hungry? Get your grub and socializing on at one of Wendell Park’s picnic shelters—available for rent.
Playground
Poised for playtime, the park’s playground is the perfect spot for tykes between two to 12 years old to climb, slide, swing and romp around. Plus, the facility features an ADA and expression swing.
